Rev. Dachomo’s son, Hon. Darim declares intent to run for Barkin Ladi/Riyom House of Reps seat

 Son of the Barkin Ladi Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations, (COCIN), Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, Hon. Darim Dachomo, has declared his intention to run for the Barkin Ladi/Riyom House of Representatives seat in the 2027 elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Hon. Dachomo who made his intentions known in a statement made available to PlateauNewsWatch, said he decided to run for the position after wide consultations with the conviction that he has what it takes to provide effective representation for the people of the constituency.

In the declaration statement, Hon. Dachomo said his decision is not born out of personal ambition but a recognition of the urgent need for purposeful and responsive leadership that listens, understands, and delivers real results.

Building his campaign on the slogan “Building Today, Securing Tomorrow”, Hon. Dachomo said he aims to build a peaceful, inclusive, and progressive Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency where opportunities are created, lives are improved, and development is visible and sustainable.

“With humility, conviction, and a deep sense of duty, I, Darim Ezekiel Dachomo, formally declare my intention to contest for the position of Member, Federal House of Representatives, representing the resilient and vibrant people of Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency,” he said.

“This decision is not driven by ambition alone, but by a clear recognition of the urgent need for purposeful and responsive leadership—leadership that listens, understands, and delivers real results.

“Our constituency stands at a critical moment in its history. The challenges we face —security concerns, limited opportunities, and slow development— require bold thinking and committed representation. It is time to take decisive steps toward a future we can all be proud of.

“I am stepping forward with a firm commitment to serve with integrity, transparency, and accountability. My focus is simple: to put the people first by promoting security, empowering our youth and women, attracting meaningful development, and ensuring that our voices are heard at the national level.
