he Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the declaration by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) that Kayode Fayemi, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State.
Declaring Fayemi winner, on behalf of INEC, Professor Idowu Olayinka, the Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, had said he polled 197,459 votes to beat Professor Olusola Eleka, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 178,121 votes.
However, reacting at a press briefing in Abuja on Sunday, Kola Ologbondiyan, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, said the election was rigged in Fayemi’s favour.
